eggnog smoothie

It is more important than ever to maintain a healthy nutritional balance during the change of the seasons to keep energy levels up and to fight off those pesky bugs, colds and viruses that thrive around this time of year.
Starting your day with a freshly squeezed juice drink rich in essential vitamins will give you a boost straight away and keep you going strong all day long, while at the same time behind the scenes it will be supporting your immune system to ensure it is fighting fitter than ever to deter colds and flu.
Making homemade juice is easy, and the best part is that you can ensure it’s made of fresh ingredients that are packed with essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients that are needed to keep you feeling good throughout the day and beyond.
This recipe is made with carrots and beetroot that are absolutely packed with vitamins A and C, both of which support your body’s natural defences as well as promote a healthier immune system.
Another ingredient we’ve added is ginger which is an absolute essential feel-good ingredient that helps to combat congestion and a sore throat. It’s also great for maintaining a healthy digestive system too!
Lastly, we added an apple to the mix which adds extra Vitamin C and potassium, as well as giving a kick of sweetness to counterbalance the other ingredients.
Give this juice a go and see how you like it. It packs a punch in more ways than one!
We used our JE7C centrifugal juicer to make this juice to ensure that we extracted every drop of goodness from our ingredients.

Making freshly squeezed juice at home

 Ingredients

🥄  1 medium beetroot

🥄  1 cup of spinach

🥄  1 apple

🥄  2 carrots

🥄  1 tbsp of fresh ginger

🥄  1 tbsp of pomegranate seeds

Note: We used the JE7C centrifugal juicer to make this recipe. It has two speed settings; one for softer/leafier ingredients, and one for the firmer ones.

Method

Before starting ensure your juicer is clean and ready to use. Plug in and switch on at the plug.

1. Wash all ingredients under water.

2. Turn the juicer onto speed 1 and insert the spinach leaves and pomegranate. Gently push these through with the pusher tool.

3. Next, switch to dial to speed 2.

4. One-by-one add the beetroot, apple and carrots.

5. Lastly, add the ginger.

6. Once all the ingredients have been worked through, switch off the juicer and close the pouring spout to avoid any drips.

Give the juice a little stir and serve. Your refreshing freshly squeezed juice is ready to drink! If you have too much, why not bottle up another portion to take along with you for later?
